Responsibilities :

Administrator will be responsible for hands-on system administration support, system maintenance and operations support of UNIX Servers.  Duties include performing the basic day-to-day 24/7 system administration tasks, installation of new customer software releases, system upgrades, evaluation and installation of patches, and resolution of hardware and software-related problems associated with COTS/GOTS products.  The system administrator will coordinate hardware maintenance and repairs with vendors, interface with the Architecture organization during discrepancy reporting process, and assist in the overall modernization of the enterprise.  The candidate may be asked to participate in analyzing new hardware/software needs and participate in client requirements reviews and meetings pertaining to customer issues.

 

Required Skills and Experience :

Thorough file server support and maintenance knowledge; UNIX Web experience such as Apache, Tomcat, or JAVA; three years of server administration experience; knowledge of the Solaris hardware infrastructure; four years client/server support and troubleshooting; working knowledge of Ethernet cabling and switching; thorough understanding of LAN infrastructure protocols, E.g. DHCP, DNS; ability to Script.

The successful applicant shall serve in a dual capacity as Senior Software Test Engineer and Database Developer subject matter expert for all customer software test requirements and database and application development project teams.  He/She shall evaluates, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies. He/She shall develop, maintain, and upgrade automated test scripts and architectures for application products.  Also he/she shall write, implement, and reports status for system test cases for testing; Analyze test cases and provide regular progress reports.  The ideal candidate shall have over 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area and be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures germane to software testing and database development.  The individual shall evaluate design and implementation of existing database and application systems to ensure optimal efficiency and performance of deployed systems.  The successful applicant shall rely upon extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and performs a variety of tasks.
