Position Details:


Support the day-to-day operations in a web hosting environment consisting of SuSE Enterprise Linux and Windows servers, desktops, Local Area Network devices and directory services. Duties include: hardware and operating system monitoring, maintenance, installation, documentation, and support using a variety of tools.  Understand the Systems Administrator's role in designing and implementing required security controls to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information and system.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 7 years experience with Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Scientific Linux) in an enterprise environment 
  • Minimum 4 years experience in a web hosting environment
  • Minimum 2-4 years experience with VMware Enterprise
  • Extensive experience with Apache HTTP Server including proxy and caching configurations
  • Minimum 2-4 years experience with Java application servers such as Tomcat, Geronimo, or Web Sphere Application Server Community Edition 
  • Minimum 1 years experience with Windows Server 
  • Experience implementing NIST 800-53 security controls 
  • Storage Area Network experience with Hitachi Data Systems, Cisco Fiber Channel Switches and file serving protocols Solid understanding of TCP/IP and other networking protocols
  • Experience with Puppet 
  • Experience building and compiling software, Java applications, and RPMs
  • Experience with enterprise backup software such as Bacula or NetBackup
  • Solid understanding and experience using Version Control Systems, especially Subversion or Git
  • Fluent in Perl, Ruby, or Java along with Linux shells and shell scripting
  • Experience with Nagios system monitoring

Desired Skills
  • Advanced understanding of Puppet
  • Experience Supporting ArcGIS and SDE in an enterprise environment
  • Experience with Bacula and Spectra Logic Tape Libraries
  • RHCE
  • Experience with High Performance Computing environments
